A free US stock screener that works without an account, with its well-known market heatmaps. Elite is $39.50 a month.
Finviz has screened US stocks on the web since 2007, and its free plan is unusually complete: every fundamental and technical filter works, even without an account, on quotes delayed by a minute and with ads. Around the screener sit the S&P 500 heatmaps, sector groups and an insider-trading tracker. Elite costs $39.50 a month or $299.50 a year and adds real-time quotes, unlimited alerts and export to CSV or through an API. Coverage ends at NASDAQ, NYSE and AMEX, and the FAQ says no international markets are planned. Older reviews still praise an Elite backtesting tool, but it is gone: its pages return an error and its data stops in January 2023.

Best for
Stock pickers who buy only on US exchanges and want to shortlist ideas fast and for free. If you hold European or Asian shares, it won't find them, because there is no market outside the US.
