Koyfin (New York, founded 2016) sells one thing convincingly: institutional-grade data — S&P Capital IQ, Morningstar, MT Newswires — at retail prices, wrapped in dashboards that feel like a lighter Bloomberg. The screener runs on 5,900+ criteria across fundamentals, technicals and analyst estimates, over 80,000+ companies worldwide, with separate screeners for ETFs, mutual funds and US SMAs, plus template screens to start from. Alerting is full-spectrum (price, technical signals, valuation levels, news) across desktop, email and push, and the mobile app is one of the best-rated in the category. The catches are structural: no API at all — the vendor cites data-provider restrictions — and CSV export exists but cannot include financials, valuation, estimates or growth columns for the same licensing reason. Custom formulas exist but only as watchlist columns, there is no composite stock score, and there is deliberately no AI.
